Sandbanks Hotel

The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and set the tone for our stay. The hotel is superbly appointed, being right on the beach. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well equipped, and the Amalfi restaurant has wonderful sea views. We will return!

We had an amazing stay here. Please don't be put off by bad reviews. We had a double seaview room which had a balcony with table and chairs to enjoy spectacular views. I don't know if it had been refurbished recently (215) because it was faultless. It had a seperate area with wardrobe, drawers ,a tv and comfy chairs also with patio door to balcony. Bed was especially comfy although one small issue with the duvet being too warm for our liking. We mentioned it to reception in the morning and a lighter duvet was put on for us. Thank you. Breakfast was exceptional. Plenty of choice, eggs and porridge to order and spotless restaurant. All staff friendly and polite. Free parking was a bonus with plenty of room ( out of season in September) Recommend having coffee and drinks on terrace. To the people who moaned about the seagulls? Really? You're by the sea and... the hotel have put signs on the bins outside asking for no food waste or pizza boxes to be put in them. There is a bin for this inside the hotel for this. If people choose to ignore the signs yes you will get seagulls. This is not down to hotel. This place is a gem and we hope to return again.

Stunning view from our balcony overlooking the beach. Italian restaurant on site. Food was excellent. Crispy pork belly was like I’ve never tasted before. Staff all really welcoming. Thanks to Razvan for looking after us. Hope to return.

Firstly, what a location! You can walk to the ferry to get over to Studland, or step out of the back of the hotel onto the beach. I enjoyed my stay. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and I could have stayed a lot longer than the short three-day weekend. The rooms need an update (hence not a five-star review), and the shower didn't really work comfortably with my 6ft 4" height, but I made do. The room was clean and we were well looked after. We will be going back.

Stayed there for one night with my husband for our first wedding anniversary. The price was all worth it for the sea view, which was stunning. Hearing the sound of waves all night and in the morning was very relaxing. The staff were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was not bad, lots of choices. Very happy they had mocha to choose from the coffee machine, many hotels don’t have that. The food in the Amalfi restaurant was not great. If we stay there again we will not be eating in this restaurant again. The whole place needs updating and bringing up to the 21st century. It feels very dated.

I booked 4 x "Superior sea rooms with balcony" for a week. The rooms were lovely, modern and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was good, drinks and pizza on the patio were good, and the staff were great. Only things I would critique is that some elements of the hotel were quite dated. The pool for example we ended up going to havens to swim but that wasn't a massive problem or something that would stop us returning. Also the lift didn't go to the top floor which wasn't ideal since we had a weeks worth of luggage but not the end of the world. Would definitely return :)

Myself and my family had a 2 night stay here from Sunday to Tuesday. The hotel is in a fantastic location. You could argue that some areas of the hotel could do with a re vamp however the room was clean and functional. The staff both on the front desk and in the breakfast and dinner restaurants were fantastic and couldn't be more polite and helpful. We will definitely come back next year.

Great service, the family room was massive with a separate room for the kids (no bunk beds) and en suite bathroom, very friendly staff all over including their partners, such a pleasant stay, even other guests were nice. Brilliant experience all round and, really enjoyed their breakfast options. Can’t comment on the cost as I booked the stay during a peak time, I’m just going to keep it all positive.
